Jessica Jones at How About Orange Blogspot  has a great tutorial for making modular felt designs that require no sewing or gluing.

They use a clever technique of cutting and connecting interlocking geometric shapes.

You can use this technique to create a trivet, coasters, a table runner, wall hanging, or pillow tops.

At Renew Redo blog, Sammy has great pictures and tutorials on furniture and home décor.  She takes flea market finds and turns them into beautiful high style designer items.

In the picture above, Sammy used Rub and Buff to turn this old looking desk into a gorgeous Pearl and Silver leaf desk.

She has several posts of things that she has made wonderful with Rub and Buff.  I love the stuff.

If you are not familiar with it, it is an oil based tinted wax that works on wood, ceramic, tile, and leather.

One Saturday afternoon, I looked at all her projects and was having a hard time tearing myself away.

Even if you don’t usually do stuff like this, you might be inspired to try it.

Here is an instant table centerpiece.

Simply put a bunch of seasonal flowers in a vase or glass of water and pop them in a beautiful gift bag.   Voila!

There are so many beautiful gift bags and papers available.  You could use a bright contrasting color, or bright white for a fresh clean look.

Imagine several of these lined up on a table.  It would make a great impact with very little cost or time.
