I finished up my Graphite Pencil Drawing class at the Denver Botanic Gardens  last week.

It was a fun class with Susan Rubin, an artist who creates beautiful botanic pencil and color pencil paintings.

I learned more about drawing and got some great tips for working with graphite.  You can read a little more about it on my Sally Evans Art blog.

It always seems difficult to add things to the schedule but I have found that signing up for these classes have been one of the best ways for me to practice drawing.

It gives me a structure and a commitment that requires me to set aside the time to draw.

Despite my best intentions, without the structure, it doesn’t always happen.

Is there something you have wanted to do that taking a class would give you the structure you need?
