Inspiring Quote of the Month

“All gardeners live in beautiful places because they make them so.”

- Joeph Jourbert

This quote is a great reminder that we all have the choice to make our lives beautiful and that choice requires action.

You can start out with a tiny seed or idea and allow it to grow and blossom into something wonderful.

When you tend to your garden or your life and focus on making it beautiful, you will reap what you sow.

P.S. This picture was taken when we were at the Palace of Versailles outside of Paris, France a couple of years ago.

Four Minutes of Inspiration

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

I don’t know about you, but I can never get too much inspiration.

I think we all need to have our dreams and aspirations reaffirmed because it can be way too easy to come up with reasons that lead you away.

You are too busy.
You don’t know enough.
You can’t compete with what is already out there.
Who are you to think you can do it.
Oh, it’s just a silly idea.

The harder road is to keep going. Keep plugging away, even when you aren’t sure where it’s going. Even when you don’t know what you are doing.

Because your heart tugs at you to be yourself, to do things your own way. You would think that is easy but it’s not.

We are all so conditioned to compare ourselves and to think we aren’t enough.

I found this video on U-tube through Kelly Rae Roberts, a talented mixed media artist.

Kelly Corrigan, best selling author of Lift and The Middle Place has these inspiring words for all of us. Take 4 minutes to be inspired today.

A Mother’s Love

Friday, May 7th, 2010

If you are lucky, you have been the recipient of the wonderful, unconditional, deep and abiding mother’s love.

And if you are even luckier, you marry into a family and receive it yet again…..and again.

I’m that lucky.

I don’t think you can appreciate it as much as when you have your own children and find your heart expanding more than you ever thought possible.

It’s true that we don’t always give our mothers the thanks and appreciation they deserve.

After all, they were the ones that made us eat our vegetables and say please and thank you.

They were the maid, the chauffer, the cook, the laundress, the travel agent, and the holiday Meister.

Sometimes we took their great care and concern for us for granted.

So, this is a loving tribute to my Moms, to say Thank you!  We love you and appreciate you!

And thank you to all the Mom’s out there who do their best every day to take care of their families.
